We have visited the Maldives as a family several times, but we always choose different islands to visit each time we go – until we found Kuredu. Upon arrival at Velana International Airport, the journey to Kuredu begins with a scenic seaplane transfer, offering breathtaking aerial views of the Maldives atolls. Tip: Buy a SIM card at the airport before flying to have mobile data. There are two phone shops to the left of the airport entrance.

We have always loved breakfast because the chefs are on hand to cook your egg exactly how you want it. With the backdrop of the Indian Ocean, this restaurant offers the perfect ambiance for a memorable dining experience. Our favorite restaurant, ‘The Far East’, transports guests to the bustling streets of Asia, offering a menu inspired by the culinary traditions of China, Japan and Thailand. By savoring sushi under the stars or savoring tasty stir-fries, diners embark on a gastronomic adventure reflecting the diversity of the region. If you book early, you can enjoy the delights of a Teppanyaki where the chef prepares your meal in front of you at the table. As the day transforms into the golden hues of the sunset, Sangu Sunset Bar becomes the perfect place for a relaxed evening. Nestled on the beach, this bar offers a selection of cocktails and light snacks, creating an intimate atmosphere for socializing or simply relaxing by the water.

A word of warning though, the house reef is beautiful but reaching it from the beach is a bit risky as there are very protective triggerfish nesting in the sand that chased us the two years we were there.
